What does it do?
It lets Claude or ChatGPT look things up in your Learning Mate account, so you can ask about your classes, exams and students in plain English instead of clicking through pages.
Can it change grades or delete anything?
No. It can only look. It can’t create, edit or delete anything in The Learning Mate.
Do I need a Learning Mate account?
Yes, a teacher account. Students and parents can’t connect, and the assistant only ever sees the classes you teach.
Does it cost anything?
Not from us. Every Claude plan supports it, including Free. In ChatGPT, add The Learning Mate from our app page; if your workspace restricts apps, an admin may need to allow it.
Does ChatGPT or Claude see my students’ data?
Only what it reads to answer your question. Check your school’s policy on AI tools before you connect, and only ask about the students you need to.
Does it work on my phone?
Set it up once on a computer. After that, ask from the app on your phone, wherever you are.
How do I disconnect?
In Claude, open Customize → Connectors and remove The Learning Mate. In ChatGPT, disconnect the app from your settings. To cut off every connection on our side too, email support@thelearningmate.com.
